In depth Political Analysis of Somaliland and Other World Affairs – By S. Egeh
“Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe”. Frederick Douglas
“Justice is conscience, not a personal conscience but the conscience of the whole of humanity. Those who clearly recognize the voice of their own conscience usually recognize also the voice of justice”. Alexander Solzhenitsyn
Introduction
Defending the undependable is disingenuous and unethical. Not calling spade a spade is wrong and flies in the face of all the rules of decency and social justice. Deviating from the topic on the table is not a good way to defend a position. Supporting somebody by clan and tribal affiliation is outdated and wrong. The Rayaale regime is not a defendable regime. Its wrong headed policies and actions are dragging the country to the ground. They are not ready for any kind of compromise. Mr. Rayaale knows he won’t win the coming elections that are why he keeps on postponing the election. The Rayaale administrations corruptions, incompetence, its policy of playing one community against the other are evident and already proven. The Rayaale regime disinterest to hold fair and free elections is very clear. Some time ago they refused to sign the agreement between them and the opposition. To sum it up the current government is in the wrong direction and lost the trust of the people. The best route for Rayaale to follow right now is to resign. There is no other avenue open for this regime.

News Analysis in Depth
1.Presidential Rayaale has started a full-fledged political campaign. He was crisscrossing the Sahal region and right now he is in Togdheer region. Mr. Rayaale is going to all these villages, towns, and cities in order to wow the people of that area vote for him. Somalilanders can not be deceived this time around. Despite the full use of government resources for his re-election efforts, Somalilanders are looking for change of guard. Mr. Rayaale can visit where ever he wants, but this time around it is too little too late. I doubt if visiting places can translate into votes for Mr. Rayaale. I am urging Somalilanders to use the power of voting and send Mr. Rayaale for retirement. Kulmiye party is the popular party of change and that is the party Somalilanders will give their vote in this election cycle. I am urging Somalilanders to give their vote to Chairman Ahmed Siiraanyo and Abdulrahman Zaylici. Somalilanders would like to see the Rayaale administration, to hold a credible and honorable campaign where Somalilanders are not intimidated. People must give their votes without the fear of government harassment and intimidation. In this election cycle all eyes are wide open and watching how Rayaale’s heavy-handed administration will conduct the coming presidential elections. The question every body is asking is, can they (Rayaale administration) come clean and hold an honest and fair election? Only time can tell..
2. Presidential Barack Obama’s visit to Egypt and his speech in Cairo University (Jamaica-Al-Qaahira) was historical. it is the first time an American president has delivered such a speech in Cairo University. The speech was rich in historical facts, and events. It was also an inspiring and uplifting speech for many peace-loving people around the world. At times the speeches pointed out the root causes of the tension between Islam and Christianity. He put colonialism and the cold war as the major culprits of the friction between Islam and Christianity. President Obama has underlined terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, underdevelopment and poverty as the greatest enemies facing humanity in the 21st century. Many times during the course of the speech president Obama put into perspective that America is not at war with the Muslim world. He also mentioned the need to focus more of what unifies both Muslims and Christians. At the same time the speech touched on democracy and told the Middle East dictators and I quote ” You need to rule by consent not by coercion”. He also reminded the for life presidents and kings of the Middle East, that democratic governments are the ones who last long in the final analysis.
3. Mr. Rayaale was warmly welcomed and elected by the people of Somaliland. The reign of the former president has expired April 2009. Therefore, he needs to hold the elections on time or else resign. We know that Mr. Rayaale has postponed the presidential elections three times. Though he came to power following the sudden death of Somaliland’s legendary politician, Excellency Mr. Mohamed H. Ibraham Egal, the people of this country from corner to corner voted for him. He has narrowly defeated Mr. Siiranya, the decorated war hero from Somaliland’s war of independence era, the current presidential candidate and the chair man of Kulmiye party. Mr. Rayaale is using outdated tactics in order to intimidate the opposition and stay in power. Those type of tactics can’t work today. The people of this country have reached a political maturity. In the last presidential elections he was popular in every village, hamlet and town in Somaliland. Now the president is very unpopular almost every where in Somaliland.
4. Kulmye party has emerged as the unity party that is destined and potentially headed to a landslide victory in the coming presidential elections. It is time for all Somalilanders to line behind the Kulmiye party, so that the country can be saved from the ravages of the Rayaale administration. Kulmiye party is the only hope for Somalilanders. The party has lately emerged as the party of patience, perseverance, progressive ideas, and responsible leadership
5. Yemen is trouble again and some of its unresolved structural and governance problems are catching up with her. The insurgency for the secession of South Arabia has already started. Yemen is a highly fractured society. This country is dominated by very powerful tribes. The central government is very weak. Attempts to create strong central government has surely failed. The country was ruled by one dictator for the last thirty years. He failed to do anything about the full integration of South Yemen and North Yemen. South Yemen has disappeared from the world map in 1994 when they lost the civil war with North Yemen. Since that time, the people of South Yemen has felt marginalization and oppression. They are going through something similar to what Somalilanders were going through before they reacquired their lost independence in 1991.
6. The Swine Flu is flu is caused by a retrovirus called HINI. This virus was originally the virus that used to attack pigs. This type of virus has high potentiality to mutate. It mutated into form that can infect humans. Swine Flu is a contagious disease that is airborne. This means It can be transmitted through the air. For example it could be spread through sneezing and through the proximity to a person infected with the virus.
7. It is time for Raul Castro and the other heroes of the Cuban revolution change course. With all things considered the Cuban revolution was a success, but time has changed. Here in the dawn of the 21st century the champions of that great revolution, that have liberated the Cuban people from the ravages of a backward, and repressive dictator Batista to change course and give way to new leaders.
8. Help IQRA to complete the Gabta Boarding High School. Be part of the going dynamic educational movement. Be part of this renaissance movement to educate all our children to reach the heights of their ambitions. Help the leaders, professors and doctors of tomorrow today.
9. The deceptive Sykes-Picot agreement that has divided the historical Holland Bilaadal Al-Shaam into smaller Syria, Lebanon, Transjordan, and Palestinian, and put together three disparate Ottoman regions of Mosul, Baghdad and Basra, change the name of Mesopotamia, called it Iraq and put a Hash mite implant King Faisal bin Ali Hash mite on the Iraqi throne.
10. The natural deconstruction of the old, artificial and colonially carved nation states and the rising of new and natural ones in their place are in full swing. Somaliland is a vivid example of this on going evolution. The reconfiguration and realignment of the artificially post colonial nation states is a work in progress. This natural process that is counter to the arbitrarily drawn boundaries of the post colonial nation states was going on for a while. Many experts predict the acceleration of the process in the coming years. What is happening in Sudan, Congo, Nigeria, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and a number of other countries is a good example of a restructuring and realignment work in progress. No international or regional organization will have neither the ability nor the wherewithal to reverse to this natural evolution of post colonial nation states. Forcing unrealistic and unworkable solution for nation stating undergoing natural restructuring and reconfiguration can not work. Using old tools on emerging new phenomena will not work. The excessive use of meaningless dejure recognition and sovereignty can not work. These cosmetic remedial attempts will not work. A good example of the United Nations ineptness and futility to resolve gigantic foundational and structural errors of post colonial nation states is evident in Somalia, Sudan, Nigeria, Cameron and many other places.
11. Is the world’s economic meltdown may be the beginning of the end of capitalism as we know it. The world economic meltdown is caused by the combined forces of some Real Estates companies, banks, financial institutions, insurance giants. It was partially caused by the predatory lending efforts and deceptive policies of many huge banks, such as bank of America, Wells Fargo, City bank and many others.
12. Another meaningless name the so-called G-20 bumped 120 billion dollars to an irrelevant and another vestige of colonial era-the IMF (International mismanagement and Fraud). It is mind boggling to see some so called industrialized countries to bump so much many in a dying institution such as the IMF. The IMF controversial policies have moved many developing countries to the brink of economic collapse.
